A 64-year-old murder suspect was taken into custody after barricading himself in a Philadelphia home, authorities said.

The incident was over just before noon on Monday, Aug. 12 without any injuries, Philadelphia police said.

Philadelphia police and U.S. marshals had surrounded the home.

The incident began at about 9:50 a.m. at 6900 Old York Road in the 35th District, Philadelphia police said.

U.S. Marshals received information that the suspect, wanted for homicide, was inside the home and allegedly pointing a firearm toward the highway. 

The staging area was located at 1200 69th Avenue.
